Polestar has officially announced the global electric car sales numbers in the fourth quarter of 2022 and also for the full year of 2022. As per Polestar, they sold approximately 21,000 electric vehicles to their customers in Q4.
The primary estimate for the full-year global sales reached 51,500 which is approximately 80% more than a year ago (29,000 in 2021). The final result is even more than the initially reported 50,000 units.
Actually, Polestar's target for the year 2022 is 50,000 sales, after a downward revision from the original 65,000 united (decreased by 15,000 units or 23%).
Polestar's CEO, Thomas Ingenlath said that "I am proud of the many milestones we achieved in 2022 and in particular the massive team effort that went into delivering our strongest quarter to date - surpassing our 50,000 global volumes target for the year".
Now, Polestar is focused on 2023. This year, they want to raise the sales by nearly 60% and reach 80,000 electric vehicle sales mostly the Polestar 2 with a small dose of the upcoming Polestar 3.

As per the CEO, the company is working to improve its supply chain and meet the growing demand for Polestar 2. It means that the production capacity in China, rather than demand is the primary limiting factor for Polestar 2. Obviously, it is a positive sign for the POlestar, especially in such a challenging market situation around the world.
